I’ve decided to start a journal, thought it might be therapeutic. May as well start by introducing myself. I’m Patrick Ryan, an Irish coal miner, I moved to Australia to seek my fortune. Relatively new economy, lots of potential, right? I mean, with all of this as of now unexplored underground, there’s bound to be a great deal of black gold here. I’ve heard it’s also a pretty gold rich country, although it’s probably all dried up after the gold rush.

As of now, I have no real family in Australia; my brother, Billy Ryan, and my cousin, Julie Edwards. Maybe that’ll change in the future, but for now, I’m going to focus on my career. Jan 1, 1932
