12/9/1920 getting harder

Dear diary

i am currently living of the farm, the work is constantly hard and most of the cows arn’t producing good enough milk for the market, and it is because of the grass that they are eating is dead, and if i don’t sell milk, i won’t have any money to give them better grass, better yet any money to give food for my two kids and wife, if it keeps on going like this i will have to sell the cattle and find another job, i hear that some of the coal miners are doing pretty well for themselves and their family are getting all they need, i might ask phil if he could get me a job there if things get worse here, because the drought and fire season is coming up and it’s only going to get worse if the farm gets affected by this….
